HK - Thailand

Thailand = BOOKED
I don’t know why I’m including images of maps for my travel locations but since I did it for Taiwan, I feel obligated to do it for Thailand as well.
HKU has this amazing thing called Reading Week which is essentially a week long break around midterm season to catch up on academics and “read”. Seeing as how the courses here are pretty fast-paced, R Week is a godsend nestled between heaps of assignments, exams, etc. It’s almost like Spring Break, minus the Spring and plus the nagging feeling of a load of work waiting for you upon your return.
It’s also a great opportunity for exchange students to take advantage of their proximity to various places in Asia and a golden opportunity to travel and explore. So rather than spend my week cooped up in a library, I’ll be heading off for a week of adventures and debauchery in Thailand!
The itinerary thus far:
-Bangkok
-Ko Samet
-Chiang Mai
The activities planned:
-Tiger Kingdom
-Tree-top adventures
-Ride elephants
-Get massaged by an elephant
-Beach
-Eat everything
I’ve never been to Thailand before, but hopefully I’ll have as much fun there as these guys did (minus the Tyson tattoo, shaved head, and missing finger).

Testing out a new iPhone photo app.

The skylines lit up at dead of night, the air-conditioning systems cooling empty hotels in the desert and artificial light in the middle of the day all have something both demented and admirable about them.
A rare moment of red sky captured from my dorm window in Hong Kong.
